German game company releases RPG for Litecoin blockchain

„It is the first major game to use the Litecoin blockchain in all interactions,“ said LTC creator Charlie Lee.

In an online event on September 15 hosted by the Litecoin Foundation , Litecoin ( LTC ) creator Charlie Lee and CipSoft CEO Stephan Vogler announced their plan to launch LiteBringer. This is the name of a fantasy role-playing game that runs on the Litecoin blockchain.

„It is the first major game to use the Litecoin blockchain in all interactions,“ said Lee

Vogler stated that the game is completely decentralized. This means that all users must operate a Litecoin node in order to play. He also noted that players must have at least some Litecoin in order to gain access. The game contains a „Litecoin tap“ through which some users can get a few Litecoin for free if they do not want or cannot transfer their own Litecoin.

„Every move in the game is a value-adding transaction on the Litecoin blockchain,“ said Vogler.

„If you are a good gamer, the LiteBringer name becomes part of the program and may bring you some Litecoins.“

According to Vogler, all weapons, characters and items in LiteBringer are stored on the LTC blockchain. He assured that the technology was „absolutely secure and decentralized“ because private keys are never transmitted. CipSoft chose the LTC blockchain because of its popularity and the fact that it offers low transaction fees. That would amount to „less than a cent per transaction“.

CipSoft isn’t the first blockchain or crypto company to bring blockchain RPGs to market to drive adoption. In May, Atari announced that the gaming giant had partnered with the Litecoin Foundation to enable gamers to use Litecoin to pay for a new video computer system. Infinite Fleet, an online game that also uses crypto , is currently run by Blockstream’s strategy director Samson Mow.

„Blockchain technology has enormous potential for online games in general,“ said Vogler. „I think sooner or later there will be games on every popular blockchain.
